My Source Highlights: KNME and WUNC

As a part of KNME's 50th anniversary celebration, the TV station created an on-air My Source spot with Charlie Smith, a KNME viewer and former executive of Children's Television Workshop. Mr. Smith proudly calls KNME his source for "good, good television," just like the television programming he helped create.

In a new audio spot from North Carolina Public Radio (WUNC), Nicole Rabaud of Durham, NC explains how WUNC is her source for engagement and connection to her neighbors.

KUT Uses Social Media to Aid Ike Survivors

An American Red Cross pet shelter in Covington, LA. Marty Robey/American Red Cross

KUT 90.5 in Austin helped listeners respond to Hurricane Ike by updating their Web site with a Google map from the Hurricane Information Center. The map included markers designating free health clinics, disaster safety sites and photos from live Webcams. KUT's page also included resources like a link that displayed current highway evacuation routes and a widget from Craigslist that helped people connect with offers of assistance -- beds available, free livestock boarding, and shelter for pets, for example. See it in action at http://kut.org/items/show/13974.
